Get to know me..
I’m Kellie. I research, design, build and launch digital products.
Whim & Wireframe is the umbrella for that work. Sometimes it means shipping my own products. Sometimes it means helping someone else move from a fuzzy idea to something real. Either way, the process stays the same: understand the people, shape the experience, build it properly, test it, and get it into the world.
Currently:
Building and launching products under Whim & Wireframe, and open to focused collaborations where research, design or build support would help something move forward.
If you’re sitting with an idea, a half-built product, or a problem that needs clearer thinking before more code — I’d like to hear about it.
What “indie” means here
I work lean. One person, full process, clear decisions.
No big team theatre. No endless slide decks. Just enough structure to turn curiosity into a working product.
The “whim” is the part that follows interesting problems and human behaviour.
The “wireframe” is the part that makes sure those ideas become something solid and usable.
How I got here
I spent years as a user researcher — talking to people, finding the gaps between what teams assume and what users actually need. Along the way I learned to design, then to build. These days I use modern tools (including Claude and a practical tech stack) to move faster, but the core hasn’t changed: start with real human need, not a feature list.
I’ve worked across research, UX design, accessibility, software development, testing, launch and light marketing. I like staying close to the whole journey instead of handing work off between separate roles.
What I care about
Validating need before building too much
Clear, accessible experiences
Shipping things people can actually use
Learning in public and improving after launch
Keeping the work human, even when the tools are technical
